Careers Listings UI Design

Challenge

I was tasked with leading the redesign of the careers experience for the new website. Key challenges included aligning the design with the updated branding, adapting to the constraints of the Sitecore CMS, integrating a new API feed for job listings, and designing an improved user experience for job searches. Additionally, I collaborated closely with a developer to ensure successful implementation and restructured content to enhance the navigability of the careers pages.

Careers Page Redesign

I began by developing a new information architecture for all pages within the careers section of the website. To ensure a seamless transition, I reviewed the existing careers page to identify essential content while enhancing usability and discoverability for users. The previous design was visually heavy and text-dense, offering limited navigability. Job listings were fragmented across multiple pages, with separate sections for U.S. and EU openings, as well as internships. The talent team sought a centralized hub for all job listings and a more intuitive user flow to drive engagement.

Despite the limitations of the new CMS, I implemented creative solutions to optimize the user experience. I strategically structured content to avoid overwhelming users while guiding them through the careers page. Drawing inspiration from industry best practices, I ensured the new design was not only visually appealing but also highly functional and ADA-compliant.

Updated Job Listings UI

The talent team aimed to consolidate all job listings into a single, centralized hub, requiring the integration of the Greenhouse API and close collaboration with a developer. My role involved designing a new interface that aligned with the site’s updated branding while enhancing the user experience to drive engagement. To achieve this, I researched how other websites implemented the Greenhouse API to understand its capabilities and determine feasible development solutions. Additionally, I analyzed the constraints of our new Sitecore CMS to ensure the design was both functional and achievable within the platform. With these insights, I developed a solution that seamlessly integrated with the site, both technically and visually.

Creating an intuitive and efficient user experience was a top priority. I focused on designing a clean, user-friendly interface that made job searching effortless and straightforward. Every design decision was guided by usability principles, considering various user scenarios to ensure a seamless and accessible experience. The final result was a significantly improved careers section that was both engaging and easy to navigate.

Overview

The success of this project was clearly demonstrated through increased engagement on the careers pages, improved user behavior as observed through heatmaps, and reduced bounce rates. The talent team was highly satisfied with the results, leading them to request my assistance on additional design initiatives. As a result, I contributed to the design of their onboarding experience and provided ongoing design support for various projects. While this project presented significant challenges, I found it to be a rewarding experience—both in crafting a unique and effective design solution and in expanding my expertise with new systems.
