UX/UI App Design
I worked on an app design for a small startup called Furli. The goal of Furli was to create a social media platform for pet lovers giving them a space to connect animal lovers. This app would be a platform allowing you to view adoptable pets, post adoptable pets, connect with shelters and rescues, and meet other animal lovers. It was a hub for all pet lovers to easily connect and browse pets within their set radius.
I was responsible for coming up with the branding, logo design, landing page design, user experience, app interface design, the overall app architecture, copywriting, and all design elements associated with the app. I was able to see this app into development phase, and learn more about designing app interfaces.

Branding
After we came up with the name Furli, I needed to come up with the branding to match the name and identity of the app. I knew that this app would be geared towards animal lovers looking to adopt pets, and connect with other animal lovers. I wanted to have an animal present in the logo design, and have the color scheme encompass a warm and fun personality. I produced all the copy associated with the app and landing page design, as well as the tagline ‘the place fur love.’ You can see the final logo design along with some custom icons created for the landing page and app below.

The App Design
There were a lot of screens that needed to be designed for Furli as well as logos and interactions designed for optimal usability. I designed over 25 screens for the app, as well as created the flow of usability for the app. I maintained the Furli branding throughout and performed testing with the app developer.

Click-through Prototype
It was important for me to do testing on the app without having to have the developer completely code the app and address changes after development, so I created a click through prototype of the basic usability and functionality. You can see a video of the prototype below. This helped me address which screens were missing, or different usability functions that I should change.
The Landing Page
After the app was developed, I knew that there would need to be some level of promotion for the app. I knew marketing would be necessary for the app to succeed, so I designed a landing page with information about Furli on the Digital Impulse website.

Overview
This project was a lot of work and a lot of strategy. It was the first app I have seen from branding, UI design, all the way to development phase and testing. It required a lot of collaboration with the developer, as well as design thinking to create the best usable product in the end. I enjoyed the challenge of thinking of worst-case scenarios and testing for usability.
